“Prompt” A Writing Workshop
August 18 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Registration required @ 712-6200
Suggested donation: $7.00
As a verb, to prompt means to cue to get going. As a noun, a writing prompt is a suggestion of what to write about. In this workshop, “Prompt!” will be both.
Come enjoy what happens when the same prompt activates the very unique ideas and stories of multiple people. We will have writing time for 4 – 6 prompts. This fun and inspiring workshop with Diana Altman has been so enjoyed these past two summers, we’re aspiring to making it annual! This year, as time allows, there will be some feedback to writers and their “Prompt” creations!
Diana is an independent film historian and fiction writer, whose work has appeared in the NY Times, American Heritage, Forbes Woman, Story Quarterly and other places. She is the author of the novel, In Theda Bara’s Tent and the non-fiction film history Hollywood East: Louis B. Mayer and the Origins of the Studio System. A short story, “In The Wrong Skin”, appeared in the Summer 2018 issue of The Notre Dame Review. Come enjoy
Diana’s reading of her recently published novel: We Never Told, at Longfellow Books in Portland on August 22nd, 7pm!
Past participants feedback included:
-“Thanks! This really gave my writing the jumpstart it needed!”.
-“I’m not even a writer, but this workshop really sparked my creativity!”
-“I only came to support my friend, but I had such a good time!” And, “I was so surprised by what we were all writing!”
